Notice on the Reactivation History of the IJAS Journal

The Indonesian Journal of Agricultural Science (IJAS) experienced a period of hibernation while it was still under the management of the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pertanian/IAARD). This situation occurred following the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 117 of 2022 on the Ministry of Agriculture, which transformed IAARD into the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Instrument Standardization (Badan Standardisasi Instrumen Pertanian/BSIP). Subsequently, Presidential Regulation No. 192 of 2024 introduced further organizational changes, transforming the BSIP into the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Development and Modernization (Badan Perakitan dan Modernisasi Pertanian/BRMP). These organizational changes were implemented as part of the mandate of Law No. 22 of 2019 on Sustainable Agricultural Cultivation Systems.

Consequently, during this institutional transition, the publication and management of the Indonesian Journal of Agricultural Science (IJAS) were temporarily suspended (hibernated) until an institutional structure with an appropriate governance framework was established to enable the journal's publication activities to resume.

Following the establishment of the new institutional structure, namely BRMP, and the availability of adequate publication governance support, the IJAS Journal was reactivated as part of efforts to ensure the continuity of scientific publishing, disseminate research findings and innovations, and strengthen the institution's contribution to the advancement of agricultural science and technology.

Accordingly, the reactivation of the IJAS Journal represents a strategic step toward resuming its scientific publishing function, which had been temporarily suspended due to the institutional transformation process. It also forms part of the broader effort to reorganize and strengthen the scientific publishing ecosystem within BRMP, Ministry of Agriculture.
